Michelle Bowers is an educator and designer. She specializes in lettering and collage work that blends handmade and digital processes. She studied design at Cranbrook Academy of Art and The University of Arizona. Michelle has taught graphic design, typography and printmaking at workshops and college programs throughout the US. She currently teaches at The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and the Rhode Island School of Design.
Parallel to her role as an educator Michelle produces design and illustration work for publications and academic organizations. Her work has been recognized by STA, PRINT, HOW, Adobe, AIGA, and the TDC. Most notably her work is published in Typism Book 3, Making the Cut, Lettering Beyond Computer Graphics and Graphic Design: The New Basics.
