Michelle Bowers is an educator, artist and designer. She specializes in multi-disciplinary work that includes lettering, illustration and design for arts and academic institutions. She studied design at Cranbrook Academy of Art and The University of Arizona. She currently teaches at The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and the Rhode Island School of Design.

Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and publications and has been recognized by AIGA, PRINT, HOW, Adobe, SOTA and the TDC. Most notably Michelle’s work has been published in the Collage Collective Annual, Ellen Lupton’s Graphic Design: The New Basics and is featured in Lettering Beyond Computer Graphics. Furthermore Michelle founded and presents Camp Make Effect a biennial five-day summer workshop for design professionals.
