Michelle Bowers is an educator and designer. She specializes in lettering and collage work that blends handmade and digital processes. She studied design at Cranbrook Academy of Art and The University of Arizona. Michelle has taught graphic design, typography and printmaking at workshops and college programs throughout the US. She currently teaches at The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and periodically at the Rhode Island School of Design.
Parallel to her role as an educator Michelle produces work for arts, academic and non-profit organizations. Her work has been recognized by STA100, PRINT, HOW, Adobe, AIGA, SOTA and the TDC. Most notably her work is published in Typism Book 3, Making the Cut, Lettering Beyond Computer Graphics and Ellen Lupton’s Graphic Design: The New Basics.
